He was predeceased by: his parents, Sven Swanson and Charlotte Swanson (Rhein); his sister Marge; and his grandchildren, Jonathan and LeeAnn.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Beatty Petit of Stillman Valley; his children, Darryl Swanson of Rockford, Joni Brundage (David) of Salinas, CA, Douglas Petit (Shirley) of Plainfield, Kim Hood (Thomas) of Carmel Valley, CA, Kelly Petit of Rockford, Kerry Petit of Stillman Valley and Lee Petit (Kim) of Sycamore; his grandchildren, Raymond G. Swanson, Jeffrey Swanson, Will Wheatley, Jacob Petit, Jeremy Petit, Connor Petit, Quinten Petit, Keegan Petit and Ainsley Petit; and his great grandchildren, Katie and Michael.
