We are sad to announce that on October 20, 2024 we had to say goodbye to Gregory W. Maurer of Stillman Valley, Illinois. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Erlene Hall Maurer. He is survived by: his spouse Laurie Jo Rathke; his daughters, Nicole King (Micheal) and Michele Hailey; his father Jerry; his brothers, Gary Maurer (Terri) and Kevin Maurer (Kristin); his grandchildren, Ava, Benjamin, Isla, Cora King, Adelaide and Ezekiel Hailey; his mother-in-law Karen Rathke; and his brothers-in-law, Boyd Rathke and Timothy Johnson. He is also survived by sisters-in-law; nephews; nieces and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.

“I have known Greg and Laurie for a great many years through membership at Christ the Rock church where our kids grew up and mingled. Greg’s personality was always larger than life as he navigated his pursuits, mostly with motors. I often remember him talking about his radical jet boat, saying “it’ll do 80……. But I’ve got ideas!”. He was quick with a story, then another story, and another. His story, however, was built on a passion for family, work, and fun. I miss you already. David Nyman”
