Arroyo; his son-in-law Francisco Moreno; his granddaughter Isabella C. Tovar; his significant other Crisofora Arroyo; his brother Benjamin Arroyo (Bertha); his children, Miguel Arroyo (Dolores), Noemi Carreto (Nicandro), Yolanda Moreno, Catalina Ocampo (Jose Luis), Maria Dolores Marcos, Luz Maria Tovar (Jose), Carlos Mendoza (Alba) and Francisco Nando (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Valentin Carreto (Josefina), Nicandro Jr. Carreto (Roccio), Gabriela Layne (Matthew), Elizabeth Sanders (Johnny), Jonathan Carreto, Laura Johnson (Anthony), Griselda Moreno, Diana Moreno (Antonio Martinez), Francisco Marcelo Moreno, Jose Luis Jr. Ocampo, Erick Ocampo, Freddie Ocampo, Sarai Ocampo, Ivonne Arroyo (Gerardo Corrales), Juan Carlos Arroyo, Oscar Arroyo (Marisol), Yasmine Arroyo, Daniel Arroyo, Miriam Arroyo, Rebeca Arroyo, Crystal Marcos (Zachary Chaney), Tiffany Marcos (Hunter Hill), Alexandra Marcos (Kasey Majewski), Alexandro Jr. Marcos, Liliana Isabella Tovar, Kasandra Isabella Tovar, Carlos Jr., Elias Mendoza, Elizabeth Nando, Claudia Nando and Mirza Nando; his great grandchildren, Nathan Carreto, Isacc Carreto (Kloe), Itziana Carreto, Matteo Carreto, Benjamin Layne (Alexis), Sofia Hampton (Trey), Olivia Boyd (Cutter), Anna Sanders, Johnny Jr. Sanders, Thomas Sanders, Natalia Carreto, Ruby Carreto, Antoine Johnson, Anthony Jr. Johnson, Antonio Johnson, Laurence Johnson, Amelya Luna, Ezra Martinez-Moreno, Adrian Ocampo, Angelo Ocampo, Stassie Ocampo, Jayden Corrales, Ivette Corrales, Aziel Corrales, Xavier Arroyo, Eli Arroyo, Wes Arroyo, Evelyn Green, Maya Majewski and Lydia Hunter; and his great great grandchildren, Lorelai, Delilah Hampton, Valeria and Nicandro Marcelino Carreto. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Mount Auburn Funeral Home (4101 S Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Iglesia Presbiteriana Clement (1447 50th Ct, Cicero, IL 60804). Marcelo worked as a night manager for Gatto Planters, Inc in Chicago, IL where he worked for over 45 years; later retiring in August of 2020 due to the Covid Pandemic.
