He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Vonderheide and Bessie Vonderheide (Keller); his children, Danny Vonderheide and Cheryl Vahling-Woodard; and his sister Joan Clancy.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Vonderheide of Stewardson; his children, Dale Vonderheide (Bonnie) of Strasburg, Brent Vonderheide (Michele) of Shumway, Christine Solis (Gary Collins) of Galveston, TX, Larry Vonderheide (Becky) of Stewardson and Jody Vonderheide of Stewardson; and his siblings, Bud Vonderheide of Freeburg, Raymond Vonderheide (Lois) of Mattoon, Barbara Hartke of Tinley Park and Elaine Hartke of Bloomington. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in Wayne's name to the American Legion Wilbur Braughton Post 611 of Stewardson.
