He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry B. Pruemer and Clara Pruemer (Schneck); his wife Carolyn F. Scholes; and his siblings, Clarence "Bud" Pruemer, Herbert Pruemer, Edward Pruemer, Jerome "Rome" Pruemer, David Pruemer, Henry "Butch" Pruemer, Harriet "Sis" Borries and Dorothy Pruemer.

He is survived by: his son Jerry D. Pruemer (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Zachary Daniel Pruemer of Teutopolis, Jacob Andrew Pruemer (Holly) of Teutopolis and Meghann Leigh Day (Nathan) of Effingham; and his great grandchildren, Maylee Ann Pruemer, Wylie Jane Pruemer, Sullivan "Sully" Jones Day and Baby Day.
