He was predeceased by: his parents, Lenocio Velazquez and Virginia Velazquez; and his siblings, Luis Antonio Leoncio, Virginia Velazquez Galvan (Aguila-Rocha), Carlos Velazquez, Eustolia Moreno (Velazquez), Maximina Marquez (Velazquez), Carmela Galvan (Velazquez), Rodolfo Velazquez, Juan Velazquez and Ana Maria Lopez (Velazquez).
He is survived by: his wife Maria Velazquez of Champaign; his children, Laura Castaneda of Urbana, Maria Velazquez of Champaign and Arturo Velazquez of Chicago; his brother Joe "Pepe" Velazquez of Rock Falls; and his grandson Evan Castaneda.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Schilling Funeral Home (702 1st Ave, Sterling, IL 61081). A rosary was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (509 Avenue B, Sterling, IL 61081).
