He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Schmitt and Florence Schmitt (Jacobs); his daughter Donna Koster (Schmitt); and his brother James Schmitt. He is survived by: his wife Roxanna Schulz-Schmitt (Legel); his sons, Allen (Charlotte) of St. Charles and Mark (Debbie); his grandchildren, Allayne Weaver (Mike), Clayton (Marissa), Drew Schmitt (Emma), Matt, Scott Koster, Jackie Hayden (Connor) and Madison Schmitt; his great grandchildren, Lilly and Addie; his siblings, Donald Schmitt and Janet Strock; and also Steve Koster (Kandi) of Sterling.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Life Lutheran Church (702 W Lynn Blvd, Sterling, IL 61081). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Oak Knoll Memorial Park (18268 Pennington Rd, Sterling, IL 61081).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the New Life Lutheran Church.
