She was predeceased by: her parents, Elbert M. Carney and Catherine M. Carney (Milne); and her daughter Kathryn (Katie). She is survived by: her husband Jim; her sister Maureen Marie Henson (John) of Sterling; her sons, Brian (Christine Layne) of Merritt Island, FL, Martin (Jeanne Tyrcha) of Machesney Park, IL and Edward of Sterling; and her grandchildren, Erica Roberts, Sarah Lett (James), Bradly Boesen, Lindsey White (Jacob), Rachael Vronch (Tim), Jennifer Slusser, Joseph Macedo and Nicholas Tyrcha. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
Her generosity manifested in many ways, from volunteering as an ESL instructor to making innumerable charitable donations to sponsoring trips and study abroad programs for her grandchildren.
