He is survived by: his wife Mary L. Cantu; his children, Jose Jr. Cantu (Christine) and Sylvia Downing (Douglas); his grandchildren, Cecilia R. Cantu, Joseph R. Cantu, Gabriella E. Cantu and Anastacia S. Downing; and his siblings, Benjamin Cantu (Mary Lou) and Delia Gayton (late James).
