She was predeceased by: her husband Nicholas J. Marucci; her daughter Diana Sulek (late Leon); and her siblings, Oneda Wilson (late Gerald), Mildred Graziani (late Nicholas), Carl Jr. Eckhardt (late Trudy), Jeannette Pasel (late Arthur) and Mary Evans (late Frank).

She is survived by: her son Nicholas Marucci (Penny). She is also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Cancer Society are appreciated.

Kathryn Burnham wrote a sympathy message

“Hi, you don’t know me, but Helen lived next to my family and I on Mckinley Ave in Steger for a few years before she moved. I remember her always sitting on her swing in the garage. I would often go and sit with her. When I had my son, she was the first neighbor to meet him. We would all swing together. She was so sweet and I always enjoyed talking to her. When she moved, neighbors came and went. It was never the same without her right next door.”

“(Continued from last message) Over the years we would send letters back and forth, with pictures of my family and kids. This past Christmas I sent her a Christmas card. I was very sad when it came back. I found Helen’s obituary and it made me sad that I was not able to show my respects. She was an incredible woman and I am so sad that she is gone.-Katie Burnham”
