He is survived by: his wife Martha Gerlach of Steeleville; his son Bill Gerlach of Steeleville; and his siblings, Walter Gerlach of Sparta, Marilyn Shockley (Cecil) of Sparta, Ruth Stellhorn of Perryville, MO, Roberta Guebert of Sparta and Esther Craig of Sparta.

Memorials may be given to Randolph County Humane Society.
