It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sanfred R. Rantanen of Staunton, Illinois, born in Covington, Michigan, who passed away on January 7, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arne Rantanen and Thelma Rantanen (Orquist); his son-in-law Marti Stieren; his brother Donny Rantanen; and his brother-in-law Fran Fenn.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Rantanen of Staunton, IL; his children, Angie Heim (Dwayne) of Staunton, IL, Lisa Stieren of Glen Carbon, IL and Ray Rantanen (Debbie) of Bethalto, IL; his grandchildren, Nick Heim, Annika Heim, Stewart Heim, Cami Stieren, Bradley Rantanen and Ryan Balster; and his siblings, Sheila Fenn of Niantic, CT and Dale Rantanen (Helen) of Staunton, IL. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
