He is survived by: his mother Mary Hulsey (Tucker); his wife Andrea Triplett; his daughters, Grace and LillyMae Hulsey of Staunton; and his parents-in-law, Orville and Beth Triplett of Staunton. He is also survived by several nephews, cousins and friends.

“Joey was my nephew. Growing up, he was so energetic and "onery"; I couldn't help but love him. Although I haven't seen or talked with him recently; he seemed very happy taking care of his family Andrea, Grace, and Lillie. I loved his family pictures from a few months ago and look forward seeing the last family pictures taken a few days ago. I know he will be missed greatly by his family including his Mom, Mary.
