He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Hewitt and Pauline Hewitt (Snook); his wife Dorthea Rose Hewitt; and his siblings, Harry Jr., Ross, Robert, Wayne, Dale, Frank, Hariett, Mary Louise, Dorothy and Jessie.
He is survived by: his son William "Rusty" Hewitt (Deborah) of Pierce City, MO; his stepchildren, Rita Black of Springfield, David Mattingly (Cindy) of Springfield, Kelly Fredricks (Randy) and Brian Mattingly (Jae); his grandchildren, Monica Parker, Levi Erskin, Amber Durbin and Jesse Gaches; his stepgrandchildren, April Poggi, Daniela Pace (Bo), Crystal Mattingly (Brittney), David Mattingly II (Ashley) and Matthew Mattingly; and his sister Edith Lane of Bement, IL. He is also survived by Step Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild.
