She was predeceased by: her parents, William Wilson and Ruth Pugh Wilson; her former husband Ray Lee Melton, Sr.; her stepdaughter Julie Berner; her grandsons, Chad Melton, Stephen Berner and Braden Cochran; her brothers, Harold, Don, Bill and Larry Wilson; and her pets, Ollie and Seebee.

She is survived by: her husband John Albert Hampton, Sr. of Springfield; her children, Brenda David (Danner Fabian), Race Melton (Tandy Melton), Pacer Melton (Tracy) of Taylorville and Ray Melton (Shannon) of Edinburg; her stepchildren, Ricky, Edward Melton, John Jr. Hampton (Barb), Janice Estes, Sr. (Bob), Joyce Bushnell, Jolene Ealey (Paul), Jennifer Rhodes (Wendell), James Hampton (Angie) of Springfield and Joan Goodman (Bill) of Tunnel, GA; and her pets, Molly and Angel. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
