It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ruth I. Horner of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elzie B. Myers and Lila Jacobs; her children, Donna Darling and Steve Horner; her grandson John Laier; and her siblings, Joyce Heck, Barbara Eskew (Art), Andy Clutter and Daryl Clutter.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Shane Horner (Patricia), Matthew Horner (Sophie), Dustin Horner (Nicole), Shannon Horner, Chris Laier (Rachel), Nathania Laier and Jordan Laier (Brianna); and her great grandchildren, Brandon Horner (Erika), Alex Horner, Anakin Horner (Bella), Elijah Foster, Lathan Foster, Clayton Woosley, Chase Horner (April), Mackenzie Horner, Lilah Horner, Abigail Horner, Nicholas Dillon, Jaxton Horner, Anastasia Horner and Janessa Horner. She is also survived by numerous great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a few cousins.
A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul (815 S 2nd St, Springfield, IL 62704).
