Russell W. Thornton Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Russell W. Thornton of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on August 25, 2021 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynn Thornton and Margaret Thornton (Owens); and his siblings, Frances Schleyhahn and Lynn Thornton. He is survived by: his former wife Elizabeth O'Neal; his wife Elizabeth "Betty"; his daughter Gail Thornton Gustin (Ron); his grandchildren, Josh Turasky (Jackie) of Rochester and Sommer Thornton of Springfield; his granddaughter-in-law Lisa Grant of Springfield; and his brothers, Jim Thornton of Springfield and Harry Thornton of Pawnee. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter.
