With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Russell R. Nation Jr. (Springfield, Illinois), who passed away on February 3, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Russell Sr. Nation and Catherine Nation (Benanti); his aunt Edna "Nennie" Nation; his cousins, Carolyn, Susan, Wayne and Curt; his wife Wendy; his children, Angela Langa (Patrick), Ryan (Karen), Robyn (John) of Springfield, Alex and Sean (Alyssa) of Metamora; and his grandchildren, Wyat, Kirsten, Kylie, Zephyr, Megan and Charles.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Butler Funeral Home- Springfield (900 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Butler Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center - Springfield (900 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62703).
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, Animal Protective League, or Alex Nation Memorial Scholarship at Beardstown First National Bank.
