He was predeceased by: his father Vincent L. Schmitt; his brothers, Carl Schmitt (Farmer) and Michael A. Schmitt; and also Ruby. He is survived by: his close friend Debra Sherborn of Springfield, IL; his sons, Rocky Lee Schmitt Jr., Donald Schmitt and David Schmitt; and his siblings, Mildred L. Limbaugh, Monty R. Schmitt and Dale W. Schmitt of Springfield, IL. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
