We bid farewell to Robert L. Welch of Springfield, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 2, 2024 at the age of 96. Robert touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert R. Welch and Edith M. Welch (Taylor); his wife Dotty Sloop; and his siblings, Eldon, Max Welch, Betty Robinson and Phyllis LaMotta.
He is survived by: his children, Curt Welch (Mary Beth), Ann Gerrond, Mark Welch (Linda) and Jane Fields (Nathan). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rochester Christian Church (325 S Walnut St, Rochester, IL 62563). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Camp Butler National Cemetery (5063 Camp Butler Rd, Springfield, IL 62707).
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Rochester Christian Church.
