He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hogan and Eloise Hill Hogan; his wife Carol Lee Spears; his daughter Kelli S. Hogan; his granddaughter Lily E. Hillyer; and his brother Joseph "Jody" Hogan.

He is survived by: his children, Robert Kevin Hogan and Kristi Jo Hillyer (Eric); his grandchildren, James (Kayla), Jacob, Chloe and Ava; his sister-in-law Sue Buoy; his great grandchild Owen; and his niece Stacey Graven (Dean).
