He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Carter and Henrietta Carter (Schwartz); his wife Sue A. "Suzy" Linback; and his brothers, Lawrence Carter and Richard Carter.
He is survived by: his children, Craig Carter (Christine Wolski) of Alexandria, VA, Missy Frankenreider (Scot) of Peoria, Raelene Carter of Jacksonville and Sonya Schuette (Jeff) of Charleston; his grandchildren, Andrew Frankenreider (Clare), Alex, Joe Frankenreider, Annika, Allaina Lawless, Sam and Olivia Schuette; his great grandchild Grayson Frankenreider; and his siblings, Ruth Swart of Summerfield, FL and David Carter (Mary Ann) of Indianapolis, IN.
