With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert A. Allen of Springfield, Illinois, born in Kansas, Illinois, who passed away on November 9, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Allen and Lelah Allen (Anderson); and his former wife Joy Dawson. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Allen of Springfield; his sons, Craig Allen of Tulsa, OK, Kirk Allen (Kerry) of Kansas, IL and Matthew Allen of Naperville, IL; and his grandsons, Nicholas, Mark and Gregory Allen.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the Butler Funeral Home – Chatham (8855 State Rte 4, Chatham, IL 62629). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
