It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Paul F. Carpenter of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on January 3, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul N. Carpenter and Marie A. Carpenter (Malensky); and his grandson Spc. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Carpenter; his children, Leann Fox of Sherman, Christine Smith of Riverton and Paul T. Carpenter of Springfield; and his grandchildren, J. D. Gallaher, Katie Green (Cale), Michael Fox, Alex Bryant, Danielle Brodski (Joe), Drew Carpenter (Vanessa), Brodie Carpenter (Alexis), Autumn Carpenter, Brittany Richardson (Desmond), Sydney Ritter, Dakota Ritter and Hunter Ritter. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Staab Funeral Home - Springfield (1109 S 5th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
