She was predeceased by: her husband John Sullivan Sr.; her sons, John Jr., Terry Lee, Williams (Pete) and Ray Louis; her stepdaughter Brenda Billops; her parents, Tommie Sr. Shields and Georgie Shields; and her siblings, Tommie Jr., Harvey, Connar, Manual, Eugene, Erma, Amanda, Ethel, Lessie, Willie Bee and Gladys.

She is survived by: her brother Marvin Howard Shields; her children, Mary, Michael, Joyce and Darryl; and her niece Shirley. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren nieces, nephews and cousins, other family members and friends.
