He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxie M. Sanders and Beulah Fern Shell Sanders; and his sisters, Mary Lamar and Karen Kirk. He is survived by: his daughters, Erin Sanders of New York and Kaitlyn Sanders of New Haven; and his sisters, Sue Elwood of Salem, IL and Gale Golino of Mt. Vernon, IL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Parks Conservation Association or the Natural Resources Defense Council.
