It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maurice Dewimille of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on November 19, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Maurice may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Maurice touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Dewimille Sr. and Maxine Flahart Dewimille; his brother Eugene Dewimille Jr.; his sister-in-law Mary Dewimille; his nephew Dane Dewimille; and his niece Jackie Dewimille.
He is survived by: his nieces, Carol Newberry (Bill) and Janice Adya (Ned); and his cousin Pat Pettus of Taylorville.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Hill Cemetery (820 S Cherokee St, Taylorville, IL 62568).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School in Taylorville or Little Flower Catholic School in Springfield.
