She was predeceased by: her parents, Freddie Howland and Irene Smith Howland; and her stepmother Imogene Colbert Howland. She is survived by: her close friend Jessie Bankhead of Springfield; her children, Darius Kennedy of Peoria, Michelle Kennedy of Lynn, MO and Jessica Bankhead of Columbia, MO; and her siblings, Tina Splain of Louisiana, MO, Pearlie Howland of St. Louis, MO, Jimmy Howland (Robin) of Louisiana, MO, Freddie Howland of Hong Kong and Robbert Howland of Clarksville, MO. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
