It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marcy Marie Ashby of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Marcy Marie farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Marcy Marie is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter P. Bietsch and Patricia Bietsch (Yuscius); her sister Kathleen Fleckenstein of Decatur; and her pets, Kroger and Patch.
She is survived by: her husband Daniel Ashby of Springfield; and her pets, Joey and Juliet. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Butler Funeral Home – Springfield (900 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Marcy may be made to Animal Protective League.
