He was predeceased by: his parents, John Fanning and Edith Fortney Fanning; and his siblings, John Fanning, Jesse Fanning, Mary Mullens, Norma Williams and Virginia Perry.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Jenot; his children, Cheryl Purves (Dave) of Springfield, Craig Fanning (Kathy) of Springfield and Keith (Dee-Dee) of Chatham; his grandchildren, David Purves (Alana), Amy Haefeli (Sean), Timothy Fanning (Sarah), Cory Fanning (Danielle), Cody Fanning (Dani), Connor Fanning (Jocelyn) and Taylor Chirico (Trevor); his great grandchildren, Peyton, Reece, Adyson, Mia, Sawyer, Colby, Dillon, Lennon, Charlee Sue and Finn; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Jenot and Rita Smarjesse. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (1345 N 6th St, Springfield, IL 62702). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
