He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bernard and Ellen Irene Brithaupt Dakin; his daughter Teresa Sauer; and his granddaughter Morgan Jesse. He is survived by: his wife Jodi Dakin of Springfield; his children, Joe, Jr. Dakin (Cindy) of Irmo, SC, James K. Hill, II (Kristina McRell-Hill) of Springfield, Christine Dakin of Cambria, IL and Patricia Bank (Achim) of Springfield; and his grandsons, Brian, Bradley, Nathan, Collen, Riley, Oliver and Tristan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
