John W. McCarthy Jr. Obituary

We are sad to announce that on October 10, 2023, at the age of 65, John W. McCarthy Jr. of Springfield, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father John W. McCarthy. He is survived by: his mother Jeanne Reisch McCarthy; his wife Leslie McCarthy; his children, Katie McCarthy (Steve Blazis), Meghan Pygott (Derek) and John W. McCarthy, III (Amanda); his grandchildren, Ryleigh, Brady, Addie, Greyson, Haddie and Remi; his siblings, Michelle, Tim (Rose) and Michael McCarthy; and his close friends, Dave Thompson (Judy), Bill Reid and John. He is also survived by three brothers-in-law, several aunts and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Memorial Foundation – ICU 3C (in honor of the most wonderful and compassionate care of John,) the James Project, and Washington Street Mission.
