It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Steele of Springfield, Illinois, born in Beardstown, Illinois, who passed away on September 7, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Steele and Wynn Steele of Maryland; his wife Dixie M. Holtman; his son John Michael Steele; and his siblings, Marianne Steele, Marsha Hendrix, Marty and Norman Steele.
He is survived by: his daughter Kelly Kates (Steve) of Springfield; his grandchildren, Brandon Kates (Shannon) of Springfield and Corey Kates (Jamie) of Springfield; and his great grandchildren, Aiden of Springfield, Jaxson of Springfield and Riley Kates of Springfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
