He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jake Claflin and Athalone Wayham Claflin; his wife Jennie Taylor; his sons, Zachary Claflin of Ashikaga and Marcus Ciani of Springfield; his granddaughter Ciara Ciani of St. Louis, MO; and his siblings, Joseph Claflin (Ginger) of Clifton Terrace, James of Maryland Heights, MO and Janine Hankins (Michael) of Jacksonville. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews, two great-nephews and a grand niece.
