He is survived by: his children, Bonnie McLaughlin of Springfield, Gary Thornton of Chatham, Bob Thornton of Springfield, Jamie Thornton of Springfield, Mike Thornton of Springfield, Kelly Thornton of Springfield, Sean Thornton of Bloomington, Lenny Thornton of Chatham and James Thornton Jr. of Springfield; and his brother Harry Thornton of Pawnee. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
