He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Kappel and Helen Kappel (Deshler). He is survived by: his brothers, Louis C., Michael W., Stephen R. (Mary) and Thomas F. Kappel (Mary Fran); his cousins, Mary Ann Sommers, Mary Lee Miller, Jack Kappel and Betty May Malon; his nieces and nephews, Jacqueline Waugh (Lawrence), Kathleen Kappel (Rossiter Noecker), Stephen Jr. Kappel (Maria), Frances Petrites (Tony) and Christopher Kappel; his great-nieces, Emma, Alaina Kappel and Eleanor Petrites; and his great-nephew Samuel.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (524 E Lawrence Ave, Springfield, IL 62703). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Springfield (524 E Lawrence Ave, Springfield, IL 62703). The inurnment will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Peace Chapel at Mount Carmel Cemetery (10101 W Main St, Belleville, IL 62223).
