He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Edward and Edna Mae Young (Davis); and his brothers, Bill Young and John "Bo" Young (Barb) of Springfield. He is survived by : his sons, Adam Young of Springfield, Joe Wasilewski of Springfield and Clint Newcomb of Michigan; his sisters, Carolyn Vinson of Springfield and Sandra Welling of Springfield; and his cousin Angela Young. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Roselawn Memorial Park (1735 S Camp Butler Rd, Springfield, IL 62707). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at the Duncan Park (500 N MacArthur Blvd, Springfield, IL 62702).
