He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane; his children, Shauna Grant (Anthony Wilson), Brenda Riech (Carl), Linda Norton (Dennis) and James Gray; his siblings, Robert Grant and Patricia Schmitt (Dale); and his pet Abbe. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home (437 S Grand Ave W, Springfield, IL 62704). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.

“Mrs. Grant, My sister and I were very sorry to hear of Jacks passing. We've known him since we moved to Gaslite Court in 2009. When he was mowing he came in and our little dog (who doesn't like men) always jumped on his lap and was very happy. e m It is odd not to see him here. He would do anything he could for anyone.
