With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hiram Shumway Phillips of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on August 18, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman "Earl" Phillips and Florence Barnes Phillips; his spouse Gaile Callbeck; his son Thomas Lyman Phillips; and his sister Constance Feldhausen.

He is survived by: his daughters, Sally Jones (Dave) of Springfield, IL and Katie Marinelli (Jack) of Springfield, IL; his brother David Phillips of Springfield; and his friend Doris Prather. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Lincoln Memorial Gardens.
