With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Rose Smith of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on November 17, 2023 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mearl White and Violet White (Keller); her husbands, George Cross, Don Edwards and Carl Smith; her son Rick Cross; her siblings, Vernon White, Clarence White, Herschel White and Blanche Titus; and her siblings-in-law, Sharon White and Ralph Titus.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon Monroe (Wayne) of Neoga, Linda Gentry (Steve) of Neoga, Joyce Strader (Sam) of Springfield, Nancy Tryon (Glen) of Camp Point and Janice Niemeyer (Nicholas) of Teutopolis, Illinois; her brothers, Virgil White (Loretta) of Toledo and Loren White of Mattoon, Illinois; her sisters-in-law, Wanda White of Mattoon and Joann White of Neoga, Illinois; and her daughter-in-law Kathryn Cross of Mattoon, Illinois. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren.
