He was predeceased by: his mother Essie Logsdon Farmer; his wife Mary Elizabeth Cosgriff; and his siblings, Yuell, Loral, Cliff, Elam Farmer, Sara Katherine Farmer, Lida Ruth Farmer and Rosie Brunk.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Ann Lahey (Mark Petro) of Springfield, George Washington Farmer, III (Valerie Camp) of New Lenox, Kathryn Diane Farmer (Bruce DeChambre) of New Buffalo, MI and Randy Sue Idler (Kenneth) of Trevor, WI; his grandchildren, Nathan Buske (Alyssa Blackwell), Amanda Farmer, Shea Farmer Langebartels (Garrett), Eric Idler (Jacey Holcomb) and Erin Carpenter (Mitchell); his great grandchildren, Augustine "Gus" Langebartels and McCoy Buske; and his sister Thelma Sorrell of Jacksonville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Williamson Funeral Home (1405 Lincoln Ave, Jacksonville, IL 62650). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Our Saviour (500 E State St, Jacksonville, IL 62650).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Routt Education Foundation's Cosgriff Family Fund.
