He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas E. Clay and Teresa J. Clay (Kohlrus); his siblings, Thomas Clay of Tempe, AZ and Carol Johnson (Clay) of Oakville, MO.; his son Joe; and his grandfather Chris.
He is survived by: his brother Richard Clay of Bloomington, IN.; his son Christopher S. Clay; his daughter-in-law Colleen Clay (Daily) of South Elgin, IL.; his grandchildren, Joseph P. Clay, Chloe Clay (Tykal) of Denver, Jessica M. Teberg (Clay), Gage Teberg of Wichita, KS, Jennifer K. Burkart (Clay), Bennett Burkart of St. Charles, IL and Joshua S. Clay of St. Charles, IL.; and his great grandchildren, Beau and Bentley Burkart.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Moss Family Funeral Home - St. Charles (100 S 3rd St, St. Charles, IL 60174). A procession was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 10:40 AM at the Patrick Catholic Church (400 Cedar St, St. Charles, IL 60174). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (400 Cedar St, St. Charles, IL 60174). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Patrick Catholic Church (400 Cedar St, St. Charles, IL 60174). The military honors will be held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Camp Butler National Cemetery (5063 Camp Butler Rd, Springfield, IL 62707). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at the same location.
