With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David William Scott of Springfield, Illinois, born in Evanston, Illinois, who passed away on March 16, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John L Scott and Martha Buxton Scott; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Riser; his daughters, Margaret Izzo (late Todd) of Mt. Lebanon, PA and Elizabeth Budinger (Charlie) of Sherman; his grandchildren, Katherine, Jonathan Izzo, Molly and Will Budinger; his siblings-in-law, Joan Scott and William Riser; and his brother Herbert. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Illinois State Historical Society and First United Methodist Church of Springfield.
