He is survived by: his fiancée Brenda Holmes of Springfield; his children, Christopher Hartke (Beth) of Teutopolis, IL and Kimberly Deters (Patrick) of Teutopolis, IL; his grandchildren, Ryan Deters of Glen Carbon, IL, Rachael Meuth (Curtis) of St. Louis, MO, Jaelen Deters-Camargo (Rodrigo) of Peoria, IL, Madeline Ratermann (Jordan) of Aviston, IL, Anna Wendell (Mark) of Jerseyville, IL and Jack Hartke of Teutopolis, IL; his great grandchild Luke Wendell; his siblings, Margie Clayton Apke, Sally Wakefield, Patricia Poston (Bob), Phillip Hartke (Carol) and Michael Hartke (Eileen); and his siblings-in-law, Charlene Hartke (Jerry), Joan Hartke (Frank), Joyce Vahling (Raymond), Dolores Kroeger (Charlie), Bernice Dasenbrock and Henry Hoene (Lois).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (203 E Main St, Teutopolis, IL 62467). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crisis Nursery of Effingham County.
