She was predeceased by: her parents, William Reid and Adelaide Schott Tweedie; her siblings, Marilyn Tweedie Shutz and William Reid Tweedie, Jr.; her son Brown Hitt of Springfield; and her pet Patch.
She is survived by: her children, Charlie Hitt (Karen) of Springfield, Libby Shelley (Bill) of Springfield, Ben Hitt of Springfield and Mary Davis (John) of Freeport, Maine; and her grandchildren, Collin Hitt (Mary), Reid Hitt (Hilary Doyle), Lauren Hitt, Jessica Maynerich (Luke), Caroline Davis, Alex Shelley and Claire Shelley. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
In celebration of Char's life, donations can be made to the Springfield Art Association or your local animal charity.
