It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carrie M. Ruth of Springfield, Illinois, born in Pennington Gap, Virginia, who passed away on May 8, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harrison Collier and Martha Allen Collier; her husband Arthur Ruth; her daughter Sonya Ruth; and her siblings, Lenice Harman, Hascue Spears, Lillian Cheek, Eddie, Ford and Sylvester Collier.
She is survived by: her children, Cara Pederson (Terry) of Springfield and Michael Ruth (Christine) of Hobe Sound, FL; her grandchildren, Jessica Mason, Jevon Shaw, Tana Hersch and Amy McTigue; her great grandchildren, Grant, Wesley, Sherry, Jillian, Riley, Adeline, Emmitt and Addison; and her sister Geneva Wells of Crawley, TX. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
