We are sad to announce that on March 14, 2025, at the age of 73, Carolyn Sue McCubbin of Springfield, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Carolyn Sue farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Carolyn Sue is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Kay and Mary Jane Kay (Simmons); and her siblings, Sherry Thompson and Bobby Smith. She is survived by: her children, Melissa Puckett, Melinda McCubbin, David McCubbin and Matthew McCubbin (Terry). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home (437 S Grand Ave W, Springfield, IL 62704). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM and at 1:40 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mental Health America of Illinois.
