We bid farewell to Betty I. (Seitz) Wabel of Springfield, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 17, 2024 at the age of 91. Betty I. touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roscoe Clayton and Daisy Grace Seitz (Walker); her husband James Wabel; her brother Dallas Seitz of Moweaqua; and her great grandchild Campbell Koons.
She is survived by: her daughters, Marcia McCormick (Dennis) of Springfield and Rita Fuchs (Kevin) of New Berlin; her grandchildren, Kasey McCormick of New York, NY, Colin McCormick (Erinn) of Easley, SC, Christopher Fuchs (Corinne) of Chatham, Claire Koons (Joshua) of Chatham, Jacob Fuchs (Molly) of New Berlin and Joshua Fuchs (Calyssa) of Springfield; her great grandchildren, Renley Fuchs, Makenna Fuchs and Griffin McCormick; and her sister-in-law Nancy Seitz of Moweaqua. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM and on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Laurel United Methodist Church (631 S Grand Ave W, Springfield, IL 62704). A burial was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Camp Butler National Cemetery (5063 Camp Butler Rd, Springfield, IL 62707). A memorial service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Concordia Village (4101 W Iles Ave, Springfield, IL 62711).
