He was predeceased by: his parents, August Cruz and Petra Vazquez Cruz; and his siblings, Trinidad, Manuel, Jessie, Refugia "Reggie" and Rose.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Giacometti of Spring Valley; his sons, Dave Cruz (Linda) of Spring Valley and Joe Cruz (Tracy) of Spring Valley; and his sister Lupe Lewis. He is also survived by five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
