He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Heynis and May Heynis (Heitschmidt). He is survived by: his wife Jan; his daughter Janet Thompson (Jeff); his stepchildren, Kimberly Spapperi and James Spapperi (Linda); his grandchildren, Cody Spapperi, Faith Thompson and Evan Thompson; and his siblings, Linda Hermann (Robert), Mary Maucieri (Lou), Peggy Dover and Mark Heynis (Mary). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
